Atlantis - The Lost Tales

I have a question about Atlantis - The Lost Tales. It is one of my favourite games.

Several years ago, I've played the PC version of this game. Unfortunately I can't anymore with Vista, new graphic cards etc.

Recently I came across it's PSX version and decided to check it out. The problem is that I see some differences between those 2 versions.

In the PC version, during discussions with other characters, they appeared in 3D. Plus, when moving through the enviroment, there were pre-rendered videos between one step to another to show that I'm moving.

The PSX version however is somewhat different. The characters appear in 2D,like a part of the background and during movement, the screen goes a little dark and after a couple of seconds it jumps to the next scene with no video.

All the other videos work fine, like the intro and the one at the begining when Creon's men come barging at the inn.

My question is: Is this the actual PSX version or do I have to configure Epsxe in order to make the game appear like it's PC version?
