Yes this is a demo. DIE IN A FIRE. GEEZUS. Notice the 'Insert Coin' or the blatantly obvious arcade settings menu, if you found the button.

Fire, now.

Instructions

Download DXWnd.
Click Edit and proceed to add typex_config.exe.
In the target location add game.exe to the end, like this.

typex_loader.exe game.exe

After you've done that, add game.exe itself to the list in DXWnd. Make sure both of these are set to run with Direct X 9.

Now just run the typex_loader.exe via DXWnd and it will run the game in Window Mode.

Apologies in advance if this has already been brought to light, and if you can't get this to work, bad luck. Also what the hell at the title of this thread?
DXWnd sounds interesting though in my case not for BlazBlu, which version did you use and where did you get it? Because it seems like an old program that has mostly vanished off the net...or at least the latest version has.

It is quite an old program, but the Taito Type X2 uses DX9, and DXWnd's hook works with DX6 to 9, so there is no reason as to why any version of DXWnd wouldn't work.

Regardless, here is the DXWnd I use. Take note my settings are in this, so be sure to change the directory locations.

It works though not as nicely as in the screenshot you showed as the game does not really run in a controllable window just not fullscreen but I guess that could be cuz I am trying to hook a real windows game, Need for Speed Most Wanted (to start things off, not the only old game I want run windowed though). So it's better than nothing, but not perfect though I guess I could tweak it's positioning when I set it up and get the desired position that way, not in the mood to mess around with it too much at the moment though.

After further testing based on this post it seems just NFS Most Wanted specifically has some sort of problem where it runs in a window but not a propper movable one, other games I tested ran in a perfect window exactly as in your screenshot even for instance newer ones like BurnOut Paradise. This is a pretty cool new tool I have now, thanks.

I think he was implying the "PC" / "Steam" version of this game will be more than the arcade version, IIRC Street Fighter 4 is PC based, but the commercial "PC" version offered for sale has more than the "Arcade" version...

So this "arcade" version may be "upgraded" when its put on sale for the PC Commercially...If it's put on sale commercially.

Those pirating the arcade version may hurt the possibility of a PC version and hurt the emulation community, even though pirating the Arcade version onto the PC and hacking it to run has nothing to do with emulation.

Correct in regards to arcade SF4 being pc based (same board as this game actually) and in the arcade its missing a lot of the characters from the home release

Also 100% agree in regards to the pirating of these games as it is certainly not encouraging a proper home release!

As far as handhelds go, well, I get the Nintendo one.

Well, it's not encouraging but some of these games will never get a proper home release. Such as Tetris The Grandmaster 3 and Chase H.Q. 2. Arika tried with TGM3 on the 360 but it's not the same game and its only in Japan (thank you Microsoft for the region locked 360).

The game I really want is TGM3. Been wanting to play it for years. I suppose you could build your own Taito Type X box but that would be a major pain and because it's a Japanese game it makes it even harder. There are people who have those astro cabinets but they are around $2,000. Pretty damn expensive.

Riiiiiiight, as if Arc Systemworks NEVER released their previous games on the PC?

Well, to be fair, they were Japan-only releases, but it didn't help that if an English version was released, it'd be downloaded into oblivion, just as this thread proved.

I'm hoping for a Steam version this time around. With support for in-game voice chat.

ADafterdark :

Keyboards usually cannot press more than three keys (or more) at the same time. That's your primary problem.

Demechan and others :

Stop deluding yourselves. This is not a demo. This is basically a workaround for a protected game that runs on a modified XP system that is intended for arcade use. Now with that out of the way, read the forum rules and just keep the discussion flowing.

Back to topic, although I'm not suprised that Taito X games can be modified to run natively on home consumer Windows, I wonder how the Windows XP based Taito X2 system is setup? It's quite natural for Windows system to have the occasional performance hiccup primarily due to virtual memory usage on the hard drive. But I never actually notice anything of the sort for Taito X2 games, all of them! Battle Gear 4, SF4, even this game. I wish I have their Windows installer.
