Could somebody please tell me how to save in Gauntlet Legends?

Saving to memcard doesn't work properly? Or... what is it?

No, I just plain need to know how to save. Like for instance in Legend of Zelda: Spirit tracks you first have to tap the menu button then tap save. What do you do in Gauntlet Legends?
