Soul Blade in ePSXe

I have a problem with the Edge Master mode...It doesn't play. Actually I can't flick through the pages of the book, so I can't fight... Do you know what should I do?

Well I don't know what the PC specs are,but I just know that my lap-top is an HP Pavilion dv7 and it is Vista. OS??? I don't know what that is... Anyway, the plugins I used are:
Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.58 (Video)
Eternal SPU Plugin 1.50 (Sound) and
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. (Cdrom)

The configuration for the gpu plugin is:
Resolution and colours: Fullscreen mode, Desktop resolution (1600 x 900), Window size (400 x 300), Colour depth 32 bit
Textures: Texture quality (don't care-Use driver's default textures), Texture filtering (0:None), GFX card vram size (0(Autodetect)), Smart texture garbage collection (ticked)
Framerate: Auto-detect FPS/Frame skipping limit (ticked)
Compability: Off-Screen drawing (1: Minimum - Missing screens), Framebuffer textures (0: Emulated vram - FVP needed), Alpha Multipass (ticked)
Misc: Scarline Brightness (0...255): (0)

That's all...

try different epsxe version or ssspsx (which is a good alternative to epsxe as it uses the same plugins) or the other emulators to see if it gets fixed

I tried the ssspsx but it crashed. Also I wanted SB to play on epsxe because you can use the arrows of the joystick. As far as I know there isn't any ps1 emulator that has a plugin that allows you to use the arrows of the joystick, only epsxe does that.
