Google it you twit....
it was one of Timeslips projects, but he handed it off to a group on sourceforge.

Keep the mesh quality at high or 1 notch above high.

Ultra quality meshes kills the frame rates like crazy.

The street date has been broken by EB Games apparantly, game was on sale 2 days before it should have been.

Look at how many badges there, don't remember seeing another game with that much in a Gamespot review.

Wow, Eurogamer is being an ass again. No surprise there.

Hehe, if I'd have been single I'd probably have responded the same day, given how much I was looking forward to this title after having played Neverwinter Nights 2 Have you ever played that game btw?

Enjoy the game when you get it man.

i played nwn2, but didnt really like it. i played through it a couple times, but the engine seemed so primative. DAO is definitely a huge upgrade from it, but basically the same core game

I know, but it was the closest thing to get until this game would be released. I know this isn't Forgotten Realms, but I really wonder if it can get to the epic feeling of Mask of the Betrayer, which is definitely a masterpiece imho. (the main game was a bit meh, enjoyable, but forgettable at the same time)

I was gonna quote your previous post and say something very similar, dangit >.>.
(And add that for anyone with the patience of a saint, there's a Planescape mod that seems to have loads of potential being made by a group named Rogue Dao Studios)

Now some first impressions of Dragon Age :
- It runs quite well. I'm using a so-so computer (compared to what can be found over here), which would be a C2D at 2.6ghz, a 9600GT and 2gb ram. Still, right now I have the game at 1600x1200, Textures High, Graphics Very High, AA 4x. (And forcing some Anisatropic because really, the ground just looks blurry otherwise)
Now my FPS is far from being high, in some areas it can get down to 20 or so, but in general I stay above 25-30. (And since DA isn't a twitchy shooter, I really don't mind having a low FPS)
And the game looks quite good. I expected to get a bad result with what I'm using, but they did a good job.
- The first encounter in the "Tower" made me realize that Normal is definitely not Easy.
- The classes may be lacking in variety a bit. Maybe they'll decide to flesh them out a little with their DLCs. (Or fans with mods, that'd be swell.)

Well, I was going to play while I ate lunch, but the damn Gamestop guy gave me the PS3 version. I ordered the PC version..yeah yeah, my fault for not looking at the box, but I shouldn't have to worry about that. Now I have to go out after lunch.. ;-;

The warrior / rogue / mage classes on character creation are foundations. You build your character with abilities on top of that.

Nah I saw that, I just find them a bit lacking still. I think that what just bums me out is the specializations, kinda wish they added 8 abilities to choose from instead of 4. And yeah, I know we can choose two of them, but that's not really the problem.

It's just that we don't really have a lot of room to wiggle and experiment, things feel a bit limited in that aspect.
But still, I guess there's plenty enough of skills to use, shouldn't run out of buttons to push.
