Star Wars or LOTR

Never gave it a thought until now. What do you think? Which has a better story, characters, whatnot and everything in between?

Trying to decide whether Star Wars or LotR is the best is like trying to compare a Pinto to a Mustang. There is no comparison. Star Wars is inferior in almost every regard (unless, of course, you don't like fantasy).

they're both good in their own special way. i'm into the whole "fancy effects" deal and i like battles, so to me they're both about equal. (although, i do have a preference to medieval weapons rather than guns)
