nero is what I always used, I thought that I'd try a less bloated burn software.. I only need it to burn and print up labels for me... I will use nero again as I like it, just only need those 2 things this time around..

I just tried the win7 built-in and it works ok to do a basic burn.

any other apps would be great especially if they are free to use.

There's always Nero Lite. It removes a lot of the unnecessary bloat.

have you tried IMGBurn? i'm not 100% sure if it works on Windows 7 but it's a good burning tool that allows a lot of option customization, is free and is coded by the guy who used to code DVD Decrypter.

nero has a free edition now! it's completely free, with some removed features and ask to install adware toolbar....
but it's still a bloatware (installed size over 100MB)

That's because it's great software, and you have no taste.

Haha. You and me both. For 2 months we can now look down our noses at these lesser people who have to hack their windows 7.

Nero died for me when vista came along, since then i love ashampoo more (no bloat just cd ripping and its hardware accelerated). Though i do agree nero 7 > nero 8/9

Nero itself has no bloat either. It just has a LOT of superfluous software that comes with it. Simply don't install said superfluous software....hence Nero Micro
