disable the floppy controller if you don't have a connected floppy drive, and make sure that you install the AHCI/Raid drivers.

I know the W7 installer froze for like 45 minutes on me and eventually completed...

I already tried doing it all over with the same result. I read somewhere that I might need to remove all the USB cords so I will probably try that later.

That's not true bro, Look I've installed Windows 7 quite a few times right now and haven't had any issues of this kind. Not freezes not anything and I haven't removed any usb cord at all. It works wonderful for gaming

Well there is definitely some sort of bug with the installer. At the very beginning after it loads the files, the installer screen appears, but all I see is the background wallpaper, no dialogue box, nothing on it. The CPU, DVD/RW and HDD are all idle and I have to leave it this way for at least 10 minutes and then the language option pops up. I remember when I was installing the RC this problem completely baffled me and I wasted another DVD thinking it was a write bug.

The same problem occurred with the RTM build, but I clearly remember nothing of the sort happening with Build 6956 though.

Its not the DVD!

Go into your system bios and disable the floppy controller! and unplug any flash or card readers.

That freeze you've mentioned happened to me. I just waited about 5 minutes and then it started.

Last time I tried it, it froze at completing installation and would not move.

That's weird. But at completing instalation phase it took a while. I just laid down in bed and waited. I think it took about 15 minutes or so.
Geez, I'm fully updated already. That was faster than I thought.

Installer worked perfectly for me but its true i don't have a floppy (which is why everything floppy related is disabled in bios as well as not having card readers).

Yeah it must be floppy related, cause my floppy light went on for about 5 mins.. Just unplug the damn floppy cable and install it. Plug in again after it's done guys.
(Yes, I leave my PC case opened.)
