Eh, I'm not too surprised or bothered. The trend in America right now is that bleaching your hair brighter than natural Blonde and tanning your skin worse than ugly aged skin looks is beautiful, and this thing with a family chasing bigger breasts doesn't surprise me either. If something else were the trend, they'd do it instead because they don't know what they themselves want; they just want what society considers as the status quo. This is all just from people who haven't come to peace with their natural beauty or what they really want (which isn't necessarily easy, mind you), so it's quite hypocritical that they target her self esteem for doing something other than just external influences, and good for her for doing so.

This is true. I have spent hours recently introducing to someone why some fields of computer science require mathematics, then moved onto introducing the topic of computer architectures to the very same person whom I was not familiar with.

How much one can socialize depends a lot on the topic, but it is limited by the acquired communication skills. For instance, while I would probably still be introverted, had I not taken drama classes out of interest back in high school, I would have had difficulty with expression, and thus be less sociable and communicate less.

I knew not getting wrapped up in typical dates, worrying about whether or not marriage happens with who, and lame sex-insecurity-targeting-social-trendy magazines (I'm looking at you, Cosmopolitan, although they're all more or less junk) wasn't something that made me crazy. (this may not really be news to some people, of course, but I came across it and wanted to post about it.)

If this is the norm, I'm glad I'm not part of it.

I see girls whining about they have it so hard because they have to do this and that (like makeup, hair, and clothes), but newsflash... no you don't have to! You choose and want to because you've been sold into the mainstream garbage of the women's commercial love market in America. Real love isn't something you buy or do a certain way, and the crumbling standings of love in America (high divorce rates, anyone?) show this.

Guys, if only you knew, but trust me, you don't want to. I'm sure you have your own nonsense to deal with, but do yourself a favor... forget the nonsense and just do what you want. I do. You'll be happier either with a girl you genuinely fall in love with or just with yourself than you will in a relationship formed on a more of a game that's likely set to have unneeded issues or even hurt you down the line.

As long as you don't dress like a hobo, let your hair run rampant and eat like a pig to gain as much weight as you can without exercising, you'll look decent.
A little makeup can make some women look a lot better, but overdoing it will make you look like a cheap prostitute.

Whenever I slept with my ex, first thing in the morning she would almost run to the bathroom to put on makeup, despite me telling her she looked beautiful without it.

Seriously, it's not difficult to look good without makeup, if you take basic care of your hair and got cute clothes.

I'm glad I don't live in the US.
