help with games going 100% speed

so i got the new dolphin, everything works great. i try playing super smash brother. graphic was good. but the speed was a little slow to enjoy. so is there way to speed it up, do i need a new video plug. i look on the forums i didnt find any thing that would help me. just write back with info or tell what to do

computer spec
intel core 2 duo E6550 @ 2.33ghz
2 gib of ram
GeForce 8800GT 512Mb alpha dog
window xp home edition
