#1 - First-Person Shooter (I guess it'd go under action)

#2 - Role-Playing Game (reason I got into psx emulation)

#3 - Fighting Games (one of the reason I got into emulation in general; pc fighting games suck)

I also like some strategy (Starcraft, RA2) and space simulators but those 3 are pretty much the only types of games I play nowadays.

1: Strategy. StarCraft, Dune 2, WarCraft, Command and Conquer, and Heroes of Might and Magic are my favorite games hands down. Nothing beats whooping people at StarCraft on b.net.

2: Action. Unreal Tournament, Medal of Honor, Max Payne, other "twitch" games. Great for that adrenaline rush.

3: RPG. Final Fantasy is really the only RPG I've played, but they're so damn good I gotta put this up there.

Dude, you gotta be kidding! FF8 was simply horrible. It had that awful blank slate system, unbalanced gameplay (honestly, it was way too easy), messed up magic system, the list goes on. I think the only thing memorable about it was the FMVs and the story. It was a classic love story, focusing on Squall and Rinoa (although the other characters got pushed back into the background as a result). I did not enjoy the game as much as I dd FF7, or even FF9. I think I speak for most old-school FF gamers when I say FF8 blows, but it seems to be very popular among the PSX generation of RPGers (who likewise criticize FF 4, 5 and 6 for their bad graphics).
