US Prosecutor names her 10 most violent games

Now we have US Prosecutor Kym Worthy condemning violent video games. She even lists down her 10 most violent games, specifying what she found disturbing about them, adding that parents should avoid buying them, and keep kids from playing them.

Quote:
"The last year has convinced me more than ever that children are at risk of becoming desensitized to violence and can exhibit more aggressive behavior if they repeatedly play certain violent video games," Worthy said. The games she cited, however, are rated M by the ESRB, and the appropriate marketing and advisory have been put into effect. Here they are:

Blitz the League II - Steroid and drug use is encouraged and wins are celebrated with hookers in a hotel room.

Dead Space - Players must destroy scary creatures; if the creature catches you, it will dismantle your limbs.

Fallout 3 - Survivors in a post-nuclear world must kill whatever is in their way including giant insects, raiders and super mutants.

Far Cry 2 - Blowing off people's heads is a regular occurrence.

Gears of War 2 - This game's main weapon is the Lancer assault rifle, which combines a rifle with a chain saw.

Left 4 Dead - The player is in a city where a new rabies virus is quickly spreading.

Legendary - A thief breaks into a New York museum and breaks into Pandora's box, unleashing all the world's evil beasts who destroy all humans.

Resistance 2 - The Chimera alien race kills civilians by the thousands.

Saint's Row 2 - The player can choose to beat up strippers, slit rival gang members' throats or shoot cops.

Silent Hill:Homecoming- It's a spoiler, you can just visit the source if you're really curious. Prosecutor Worthy cites violent video games | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press

Worthy also cites the brutal slaying of Daniel Sorensen, who was stabbed to death and beheaded by two other teens, JP Orlewicz and Alexander Letkemann - both are now serving time. "The investigation revealed that the youths would often play violent video games," Worthy said. "I believe that certain video games are connected to the proliferation of violent crimes being committed by youthful offenders such as Orlewicz and Letkemann."
Seriously the human is violent not for video games exactly, but this guy yes Daniel Petric killed mother, shot father because they took Halo 3 video game

The violence in this game is so tame/fake compared to other games.

Don't get me started on how horrible some of the sentences judges handed down are Mrs.Kym Worthy. Before you start belittling video games, take a good long look at your justice system first...

JFC! Another Jack Thompson, but with a vajajay? Not good. I thought that we were done with people like this. If you thought that old Jacky boy was bad, then you haven't seen anything yet.

Blitz the League II

Dead Space

Fallout 3

Far Cry 2

Gears of War 2

Left 4 Dead

Legendary

Resistance 2

Saint's Row 2

Silent Hill:Homecoming
These games are now on my To-Get list. Thanks for the suggestions on violent video games Kym Worthy. Saves me the trouble of having to google violent games myself.

This is highly laughable.

What moronic parent is going to buy their kids a rated M game? Of course they're violent/lewd, they're rated M. It's a shame most of the games I have like Dragon Quest VIII is rated T. Wtf? OHNOES, better watch out for that kazap spell!

What are you talking about? I thought every parent bought their kids M games. Psh, we don't need ESRB.

More than 70% of the games out in the market aren't even violent. It's just that these games are hyped and loved more.

He killed them because of rage issues when they took a possession of his limiting his freedom and sparking anger.

That item just coincidentally happened to be a video game.

I stole my brothers guitar and he broke my wrist for it.
Do guitars promote violence?

This article is nothing more than some misinformed idiots trying to hustle more ignorant people into blaming something they are not qualified to understand.

There's a name for such behaviour: Stereotyped commitment block

It's a humanistic trait that can prove to be both good and harmful, Stereotyping can save time but also promote bias.
*cough'racism'cough*

The key is to logically distance oneself from things we find prejudice in or have a lack of experience in the area.
