Need help with pulling a save off a memory card

Ok, here's the thing.

I want to take a save off my PSX memory card and into my PC. To this end, I used uLaunchELF (a PS2 utility) to copy the save to a pendrive and then onto my PC.

Problem is, I can't convert it into a format so that I can put it into one of the emulator's memory cards. For some reason, I just have NO clue whatsoever what format it's supposed to be or how to convert it to another format. If I can do just that, the rest should be a piece of cake.

Please help?

I don't know whether it will work or not, but I have a program called memcardrex that I downloaded here at Emuforums that knows several formats. One of them might be the one you have.

I'll give it a look, thanks. (Sorry for not replying in so long, but I've been without internet for a REALLY long time.)

EDIT: Looks like I'll need a specific tool for the job... anyone know of any PS2-compatible apps to pull a PS1 memory card's data out? I have one that works only with PS2 memory cards...

My PC couldn't recognize any format for it. Basically, this is what I did:

1) Opened up uLaunchElf.
2) Accessed the memory card.
3) Copy/pasted the save I wanted to a storage device.
4) Copy/pasted it to my computer.

I haven't really used any of that. I was thinking in terms of file extension(if it has one).

There doesn't seem to be one. When I went into Properties, it says "Type of file: file". No extension whatsoever.

use the "Import Raw" function in Memcardrex, or use this:

Your app worked like a total charm, Zieg! Thanks a lot.

I think my version of memcardrex is outdated though. The import save function didn't support raw.

The version on ngemu website is outdated, and both Shendo websites are offline, so I guess the last version is kinda "lost" =p

I attached the last version, so you or anyone else can download.

A mod/admin should update the version on the website

This is... bizarre. For some reason, another save I tried to use won't load... I think it may have gotten corrupted when I copied it or tried to convert it.

Here's the file... could you lend me a hand? I'm also updating the save itself.

I did. For some reason I could not import the save back onto a memory card file after using your app (even with memory card rex... it just won't show up), and while the one created by memory card rex actually "works" (in that it's in the card, and the game recognizes it) it fails to load.

The save HAS been somewhat gamesharked, so there's a chance that's the reason.

Well, MemCardRex and my app outputs the same raw file =p
I dunno what is wrong...
Your original save in the memory card still works?
Try getting it using uLaunchelf again.
You are using MCCopy and MCPaste right?

I haven't been able to test it because a friend of mine has my original CD and I'd rather not burn one just to do that. But I think it is.

As for MCcopy/paste, I can't remember if that's how I did it. I'll try again and get back to you.
