Problem with Valkyrie Profile

Everytime it starts up, it hangs at the Tri-Ace logo and then eventually crashes. I've tried using 1.6 and 1.7 but both give the same result.

I'm using OpenGL2 2.8, Eternal 1.41, and P.E.Op.S. CDR 1.4.

Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks

I'm running vista on a q6600 (3.1ghz), a ati 4850, 2gb ram, etc. lol I think it might just be vista.

And I did read the faq. I'm running my own rip, I used the search function first, and I tried it on different versions. So yeah but if I missed something let me know. If its not vista, its probably my rip (although my ff7 ones work fine... I think)

Use the proper sound settings for Valkyrie Profile to run without hanging.

In PEOPS SPU, use "high compatibility" and 'SPU IRQ' (same with eternal)

The IRQ hack is already enabled on Eternals, and using P.E.Op.S. makes no difference either.

I don't have the cd with me. I'm in my college dorm and I ripped them at home so I wouldn't have to bring the discs. lol Probably should have

Ok tried pSX and it works there, so I guess it's not the rip lol. I could just play it there I suppose, but it would be nice to keep it all in one emulator...

EDIT: ok so I changed some settings around, and it turns out its opengl2 thats making it crash. Is there a setting I can change to fix it?

Post your OGL2 settings here (the "copy to clipboard" button). Also make sure you have the last Catalyst drivers.

i cant tell what render mode setting you have from your post but it needs to be set to 2 if using internal res levels that high.

It is set to 2... oh well. I'll just use pSX if I have too.

EDIT: Updating the ati driver fixed it Odd, since my version was a recent one. Thanks to everyone for their help

is this the only game you have this problem with? btw since you are using vista i suggest you disable DEP and make sure you are running the emulator as an administator.
