help

hello ! i need to know if my amd k6-2 500mhz will be able to run adripsx, im about to get more memory and an ati radeon, atm im on a 1mb vid card im not sure how much ram ill be getting but it's at least 128mb... im on 32mb ram and a 1mb cirrus logic 5430 pci now so what im asking is will it be able to run good on an amd k-2 500mhz ati radeon 32mb and at LEAST 128mb ram ???? thanks roor and anyone who replys!!

You probably will get some slowdowns, but the games would still be playable. You wouldn't get full speed all the time, but it would still be fine. Remember: I'm talking about a computer with 128MB and a Radeon.

I tested ePSXe with a Pentium233MMX, 32MB RAM, 1MB onboard video card, and it ran about 40fps with sound disabled. When sound was enabled, I could get only 20-25fps.

what video plugin did u use? and im not on a 233 im on a 500 so it waouldbe faster than that i imagine...

As I didn't have a 3D accelerator(just a 1MB onboard), I had to use a software plugin. I tried both Pete's and Kazzuya's soft plugins, and the second one seemed a bit faster.

If you get a Radeon, then I'm sure you'll be able to use 3D acceleration, like Pete's D3D, Pete's OpenGL, or Nickk's plugins.

ok i tried kazzuya with no sound and it works great, with sound it works pretty good.. it is playable to say the least.. im about to go test some more :fart:

If you ever consider trying to upgrade your processor upgrade to an Athlon 1.4 ghz cause its cheap

not cheap enough heh plus id have to get a new motherboard and we aren't that rich so ill stick with this for a while. i put a savage 4 of a freind's in here to see what i could do and i fired up epsxe and WHAM! i could do 3d acceleration and it ran at excellent speed using null audio driver, all the others wer so slooooooow :fart:

oh and btw in the other room the family pc is a celeron 1ghz 512mb ram and s3 savage 2000 but i dont like using that comp, because i cant just fill it up with my **** hehe
