FFXII - cannot load saved games (no memory card)
Hi all! Sorry to post yet another call for help about memory. Been playing for about 3 weeks and this is the first problem i encountered which i can't solve on my own, so... yeap, need to seek professional help. ![]() Issue faced in brief: - Been playing FF XII for 3 days - Made multiple saves and loads (so memory card was working to begin with) - Booted up today to get this msg "No memory card (PS2) found in MEMORY CARD slot 1". got the same message when i tried an in-game save. - however, memory card is present when i browse in bios, but it says no data My problem looks similar to these two threads http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-offici...ory-cards.html Quote: "In the PSX2 browser, when I choose the first memory card once, it shows "no data" though the available save space isn't whole anymore (7,865 K instead of 7,998)" - similar problem. Did a comparison with memory card 2 Quote: "Auto-solved my problem by copying the "Your System configuration" file on the bugging Memory card" and "had to run the bios file" - I don't see any such option in my bios ![]() http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-offici...mory-card.html this seems to dash my hopes... lol Anyway, hoping to get a definitive answer from a few people, i.e: people affirming other responses. I would start all over, but it's been three days and i've spent quite some effort on the game, so i'm trying to salvage what i can ![]() regards, noobiers Last edited by noobiersnoob; October 23rd, 2008 at 15:07.. |

did you click 'reload' or 'load' after you select the memory card?

@fadingz: yeap, i tried reloading and all, but it still gives me no memory card detected @tallbender: I can create a new memory card file and load/save games on it. Thing is, i want to be able to load the saved files on the card that won't load. I tried creating a new memcard file and tested that it works (i choose load game and it says "no FF XII data" instead of "no card found") and then tried to import the game files over from the "spoilt" card using mymc, but it won't even open on mymc. My guess it that some header (or sth like that) in the memory card file is probably corrupted, so the card isn't detected ingame but the saved files are still inside and intact. which explains the difference in the size of free space when i view the card through bios. So at the moment, i'm leaning towards the solution mentioned in the first thread i referenced. - Quote: "Auto-solved my problem by copying the "Your System configuration" file on the bugging Memory card" and "had to run the bios file" The thing is, i don't have any option to copy anything whatsoever onto the memcard. Can anybody confirm my diagnosis of the problem? Is there some other explanation to it? @tallbender: I'm not too sure how the method you have shown me would help solve this problem. I'm new to the emulator, so i think you'll need to explain a little bit more.

do you have other ps2 games aside from FF12 does the same error occured? e.g.:"no memory card found" if i see your 1st post Quote: "In the PSX2 browser, when I choose the first memory card once, it shows "no data" though the available save space isn't whole anymore (7,865 K instead of 7,998)" - similar problem. Did a comparison with memory card 2 it looks likely a glitch save game.
