Final Fantasy 9 Battle Problems

I just started playing FF9 and everything seems to be working fine except for one thing. When I enter a battle the command box doesnt appear and also the area that shows you your Name/Hp/Trance etc is not visible either.

I'm using the following plugins:

D3D DX6 for Integrated and other,
P.E.Op.S. CDR plugin,
Eternal SPU plugin 1.41

I also downloaded the FF9 UK PAL Patch.

This is the first time I've used epsxe so everythings still a bit confusing, any help would be appreciated.

Actually, I've found that disabling frame skipping fixes this, regardless of all other settings.

it can be, it can also be both sometimes but the reasons for it might vary as well. ive actually seen this happen when both frame skipping settings are enabled at the same time (the one found in the plugin and the one found in the game fix menu called "old frame skipping" or something like that) too. i usually suggest them one at a time until the cause is found, my next suggestion would have likely been about the frame skipping if what i mentioned before turned out not to be the problem.

The DX plugins tend to have more issues then the opengl plugins, but depending on your video chip will determine what you can use.

anyway, with the DX, set it to 3-2-3-4. and DO NOT use the 0x0001 gamefix, as it causes flickering.

Smile Fixed battle commands for ff7 PCSX-reloaded

What i did to fix the issue of not being able to see my battle commands on FF9 was simply went to configuration then clicked on plugins and bios, once there click on graphics and changed the original P.E. OPS. OpenGL driver 1.78 To the second choice you have which is the P.E.Ops. Sofdriver 1.18. That was simply it. Mind you i have ONLY done this with the ps1 emulator called PCSX-Reloaded. Thank you and hope this can help your situation as it just did mine...wooo!

I had exactly this same problem before because I entered wrong cheat codes.
