Would installing the latest DirectX slow DOWN the emulation?

I haven't used PCSX2 since July and I haven't done anything to PCSX2 other than download and install the latest DirectX in August and Gsdx 0.1.9.

I recently tried running Tekken 5 and the other games I have but Tekken 5 now STOPS working after that loading process and my other games that ran at full speed are running at half speed!

Would installing the latest DirectX slow DOWN the emulation or even disable video emulation?

What else could cause such a deterioration in the emulation?

you need to goto run->execute for tekken 5.

also make sure you have the Multi threading and Dual-core mode ON

No, installing the latest directx will not slow down the emulation.
All you need to do is to update all your pcsx2 plugins and system drivers

May I add that installing a new Intel chipset driver slowed down emulation for me once?
I think it was related to PCI-Express not working as well as before.
Its fine with the latest official driver again though.

I switched them BOTH on now but it's still running half as slowly as I had it running back in July even with the old graphics plugin!

why do you have Linuzappz 0.5.0?

not that it's an issue just curious

wait P.E.Op.S 1.6.0 too?

update those 2, curent versions are P.E.Op.S 1.9.0 and Linuzappz 0.7.0, and it's funny cause they come with the emu :P

for your issue, try using ZeroSPU2 and dunno change PAD plugin... are you using PCSX2 0.9.4+?

I have no idea why I was using it; that was the latest version in my folder at the time! I just updated both my sound driver and the DVD driver and now it just crashed as soon as I tried to run King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match!

It gives CDVDis Msg:

Error loading asdfjkjla

It also says Pcsx2 Msg:

Error Opening CDVD Plugin

Then that Windows pop-up saying PCSX2.exe has stopped working...

Could updating either of those two drivers cause it to crash? Why is it crashing suddenly

Did you configure the plugins properly? just selecting them in config window would not do the trick.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I just realized that I was running an outdated version of PCSX2...
