Ati 4850 Pci express 2.0 difference ---> 1.0
I got an asrock 775 twins Rev2.0 which has pci express x16 1.0 Now this card has support for pci express 2.0, now i know it's backwards compatible and i can use the card, I wonder if there is a real noticable difference in performance of games? Anyone have samples of fps differences? or aren't there any? (i can remember gaining pci express over agp 8x gave like 0.1 to 1.5 fps in most cases lol) |

no there really shouldn't be a performance difference. As far as I'm aware cards still don't even fully utilize the x16 bandwidth. Its kinda like SataII. Hard drives 7200rpm hdds still haven't maxed out the 150mb/s limit of Sata 1 even during burst read, and Sata II is 300mB/s so besides Solid State drives, no regular harddrive including 15000rpm ones will max out 300mb/s

I second that. I have a HD4870, and PCI-E 2.0 doesn't improve anything for me at all.
