when you buy a computer try to balance all your hardware together
your cpu is already good for PS2 emulation with some overclocking
you can get very good speeds in most games THAT IF you had a better GFX card
your current GPU is very weak ;(64 bit man) and you have a dual core cpu ??
if you get a better cpu like 8800 gt you can quickly see the difference even without changing your cpu
so my advice try a faster GPU before getting the new cpu
and then we can talk later about the necessity for the new processor

which one are you talking about 9800GX2 (dual GPU), GTX, GTS, GT, or GS
GX2 will be the fastest and you can expect a great deal of performance out of it.

it would be a waste of power consumption, look into the 4850, 9600gt or gtx260.
They're the best P/P for pcsx2 and gaming

if it's solely for pcsx2 then you could cheap out on a 3850 or 4670
