A whole bunch of fixes. Performance worse than 8.7 beta (8.520), which is worse than 8.8 beta (8.540), sooo... this one (8.520.2) has my two thumbs pointing down.

Yes. On a brand new OS install. Performed worse than the "dirty" install on a messy OS that I just happened to clean up. Went back to 8.8 beta (8.540) with an update, and got a 10% boost in Lost Planet.Lost Planet trial DX10 default settings 1280 x 960: Official 8.8 (8.520.2) benchmark: Snow: 86 Cave: 100 Beta 8.8 (8.540.0) benchmark: Snow: 93 Cave: 112 Beta 8.7 (8.520.0) benchmark: Snow: 88 Cave: 108 Seems as though performance is mostly noticeable with Lost Planet. Crysis lost like... 0.01fps or something.

It's an insanely long change log. Mostly video playback issues... and some specific games. 8.540 doesn't have any issues, though, and I'm scoring as much as a dual 8800GTX setup with SupCom and Lost Planet. |

I installed it, works fine, doesn't seem to have any performance difference though I am rather blind when it comes to spotting graphics improvements! Other then that, the CCC is a bit more jazzy then my previous 8.6 but thats pretty much it.

you have a weak card...don't expect any performance increases for your card...ever...at least not anymore...any optimisation that could have happened for your card has happened...

yeah that's probably it! But I think it also depends on which game you're running

Is it any good for two 4870X2 in crossfire? Or should I get an older version?

I thought you had finally made the wise decision to only get one 4870X2?

Its just that I've been in contact with a hardware importer and he offered me two 4870X2 for 1000$, where as a single 4870X2 went for 750$, so I went for the pair - its a bargain thing. I was also able to cut the price of my list down from 2500$ to 1700$, so now I can add a kickass screen to my shopping list. I also set the date - September 10th.
