FFVIII Original Disc Boot Problems...
hey.. just unpacked pSX v1.7 and got the bios and configured everything correctly as far as i can see...... i have the european version of FFVIII and am trying to boot the first disc. i get past the sony splash screen then the screen goes black. the cd reads then the screen stays black. the program doesn't freeze and i can reset and quit out etcetcetc..... i'm on vista home..... image files work fine............ ![]() cheers guys!! |

if its a PAL version of the game you might need to patch it with a .ppf patch or something but if your image works fine then just use that. using images will generally give better performance than playing from the disc itself anyway.

use ASPI instead of IOCTL, i get the same issue with psx, most other emuls work with IOCTL just fine, but psx doesn't like my drive/drivers for some reason.
