How well will this computer run PCSX2?
Specs: Intel Core2 Quad, 2.50 ghz, 6mb cache 3 gigs of ram 32 bit vista Raedon HD 2600 XT I'm hoping to play Okami and FFX, and some other games I suppose. Those two are my main concern right now. |

Seems good, an overclock 3.0Ghz+ would be better Try it.

I have a Q6600 at 3Ghz and a Radeon X1950, I can play FFX at about 70FPS with the frame limiter off, with it on, I'm always at a perfect 50FPS (mine being PAL) unless there is alot of effects happening on screen, in which case, my fps drops to about 30 for a few seconds, but that's my aging GPU's problem, not the CPU so you should be fine. I haven't tried PCSX2 on my stock CPU speeds for a while but if I remember correctly, running it when my CPU was at stock 2.4Ghz, everything ran at about 50FPS smoothly, sometimes dropping to 40fps. |

Not sure about the radeon 2600, but using gsdx it shouldn't be much of a problem. And don't bother to overclock it if you plan to mainly play FFX, though for other games it would help quite a lot to have 3ghz. Check this out if you plan to OC, it covers the basics well, and i think C2Qs OC roughly in the same way a C2D does so it should be fine. |

you should get good FPS for FFX but I've never tried Okami so I couldn't judge that accurately. I have a quick question too. why don't the site administrators make a separate thread or section just for PCSX2 computer issue questions? I think the forums would be much more organized if they put up more sections.

For Okami - 2,5GHz C2D is too low to get fullspeed all the time - @3.0GHz+ u should be fine. For FF X - this laptop should do fairly well in this game, but it won't run it at fullspeed all the time.
