no Sound.

Hi All, I just download Dolphin and everything looks great. I only have 1 GC rom atm, Zelda:TP. Everything seems to work but I don't get any sound at all. Did I think I downloaded the new r50. im using the 64 bit version.

I'm running Vista x64 Home Premium, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+ 2.8Ghz. 4Gb Cas Lat 4 DDR2 800. 200Gb Internal + 250Gb External. Nvidia 7600gt 256mb and my audio is onboard Realtek HD Audio.

I just updated both Direct X and My audio drivers but still now sound.

I've been trying to get another rom to test with but cant find any that were seeded as well as Zelda.

Any Ideas?

It's normal, the emulator, like the sound plugin, isn't finished yet

The music and sound effects fully work in "Sonic Adventure 2: Battle" using the DSP_HLE plugin. Yeah the sound doesn't work in any Zelda game so far.

I know that I'm not a moderator, so I shouldn't be saying this, but isn't it forbidden to talk about illegal ROM's and hacked software here?

As far as I know, your not allow to provide ROMs or post links to sites where you can download them. Also you cannot ask on how to get them, so nobody can respond to his post where he might be able to find more ROMs to download.

Oh, ok.

My games aren't illegal, I suppose, I ripped them from legally bought disks...

If you do not hear any sound, then there is no way to get sound. Not until the emulator is more developed. It's a pretty simple idea to grasp. Whatever is not working is just not working and there is nothing you can do about it unless you're willing to code a sound plugin.

These threads about sound have to end. We get far too many of these threads and if you just searched you would have found another thread explaining this. Sorry to put it this way to you, but it gets a bit old seeing the same threads over and over again.

Well then there should be a pinned topic on sound. So far someone need to document the custom 81Mhz 16-bit Macronix DSP chip or figure out how to play each kind of sound format. Im gonna make a top sound thread for all of this.

HLE FTW!

Why bother to document the freaky DSP when we can just decode the files instead?

(I know, I know, sequenced audio)

I just had to get that out of my system.

The whole DSP emulated would give us fully working audio, then you wouldn't have to figure out each file format, which is so far, is a reachable solution without having to hack some hardware.

well excuse the heck outa me.

im new to GC emulation, and just wanted to confirm that there wasnt anything about the sound i didnt know, becuase in emulation things/circumstances change very quickly.

just make a list of the rom, and their current audio status.

btw when you hear the same question, why dont u make a sticky thread? the sticky threads that are currently in this section of the forum, are not saying any of the common questions and/or problems.

p.s.

Did anyone find themself making silly sound effects to compensate for the lack of audio on pikman2, without doing it on purpose ?

^_^

I'll be the fist to step up and admit it :P

I already made a topic on that but the mods won't sticky it.

It's getting there though. The latest revisions have sound on some THP movies like the intro of SMS.

can we just delete these 'no sound' threads? it's extremely lazy posting. 10 minutes of searching would get you the answer you're looking for.
