save states

How do i run a save state? i have a ff9 save state i want to run, i run the game then hit esc and hit run -> save states -> slot 1 then it brings the game back up to the main start up screen and nothing happens, is there another plugin i need or something im not doing? thanks!

save states are made by pressing the F1 key and loaded by pressing the F3 key, use the F2 key to cycle through the 4 save state slots. be aware that save states are unstable and are not recommended to be used as your primary method of saving your game, you are best off using memory card saves.

In addition to that, you should also know that sstates can be done/made during game play, not by pressing ESC and messing with the ePSXe GUI.
