Angry d'oh! memory card problems!

i'm using my dex drive to get game saves from my memory card. i save the .gme file in dexplorer, then i point epsxe to use that file for memory card 1. then i start it up (i'm trying to play FFVI), go to load a game, pick memory card 1, and it says its not formatted!

i even opened up the .gme file in notepad to make sure dexplorer wasnt -not- saving it correctly, and low and behold there IS data in the file, i really don't know why it doesnt detect it correctly.

please help

before accessing the card press f4. If that don't work press f5 then f4.

I don't think its a prob with dex drive, some of the FF remakes for PS can't save at all on some Emus as far as I know. BUt try using one of Aldo's tools to convert the mem card to something else and try again.

Have you tried doing that on the actual memory card loading screen? Press F4 right after you say to load/continue your game. IF that doesn't work (and it may very well), try F5 F4, then other combinations of the buttons if need be (F4 F4, etc.). Since FF6's saves work fine, it shouldn't be a problem.

yep, i was pressing it right at the memory card load screen, i tried F4, then F5 & F4, then i just fiddled around with both of them a bunch for a few minutes, and still it would always say it wasnt formatted.

i'm having a simmilar problem. i've tried the whole f4, f4 or f5,f4 thing...and it still won't save chrono cross onto a memory card. granted...i am not trying to get stuff from a dex drive...but the fact that i can't actually save the gave is driving me nuts.

sure...there are save states, but i accidently hit the wrong button and saved over them today when i was trying to load...see my point why i need to save?

in other words...when are you supposed to press the magical buttons, and what else are you supposed to do in order to make sure that your game was saved?

I've never run into a problem with them - just press F4 in the save screen (or loading screen) when they're taking too long, and the game saves or loads.
