Xenosaga III black screen

i've looking for this problem through "search" button, but i didn't find anything...

here's my problem:
i'm playing xenosaga III but after the end of the first fight (with that robot near second save point) the game seems to stop 'cause the screen turns black and never works anymore

maybe it blocks on exp screen...but i don't understand why...

do you know why?

notebook spec:
Windows Vista Home Premium
4 gb DDR2 ram
processor: AMD Turion 64 x2 tl-60 2 ghz
NVidia GeForce 8600M GS 512mb TurboCache (up to 1024mb)

PCSX2 0.9.4 plug:
GSdx SSE2
LilyPad
Linuzappz iso
PEOpS SPU2 1.9.0

so search in the compability list and look if this game is playable(i guess not)

just curious how many fps do you get (pretty big dvd9 game)

Try to turn some features off on pcsx2, MTGS or DC or some recompilers, and pass by the screen, save and turn all things back on and continue.

Better yet, use the beta from pcsx2.net in which this may be fixed.

@Rushingwold: i'm playing at 20 fps

and sound is crap -_-" i can't run the FMVs, but the movies with the in game graphic work pretty well...

EDIT: i downloaded the beta and it works

ty guys...but unfortunately i'm playing at 10 fps

big req game...

Do you use the dx10 mode? Xenosaga needs this to work fast.

Try what rama2 said, and ensure that you have turned on "Disable forced ABS" speed hack (not the other 2, especially EE/IOP Sync Hack, it makes the pre-battle animation sooooo slow).

For the sound I recommend you to download and use GiGaHeRz's plug-in. It works very fine with this game, else you might notice some problems with sound volume.

As a final comment (and a little off-topic maybe, so sorry), I'm currently working around with some strange in-game (¿graphic?) behavior at some point of the game, so if you get stuck with some stuff that you think that should work (like map objects), please, make me know. I don't give more info about this because it can be spoiler, but feel free to ask if anyone wants to know the details. In any case I think I'll post some technical info about this when I get more data about that, if I confirm that it is what I think

i tried the Giga's plugin, but is it for reading iso? 'cause the sound plug does nothing

and even the dvd plug is the same as Linuzappz...

but i'm playing with an average of 15 fps, because my pc seems to have some problems while it's reading iso... 5 seconds to load some sector of ISO and then the game works fluidly at 40 fps...for 20/30 sec...then another 5 sec at 7 fps to load, and again other 20 seconds of 40 fps'game...

hd speed problem, maybe? i don't know...

ah, the problem of black screen after battle was ZeroSPU 2 sound's plugin...changing it with PeOps let me play

Well, yeah. It could be your pc having reading trouble. You'd notice that with a very slow
windows as well though.
If you mean the battle transitions though, and use the pcsx2 beta, then disable the EE/IOP
sync hack.
For the sound try ghz's spu2 plugin (not the cdvd one

), use the one i attached in his thread.
His 1.9 release has a small but annoying bug
