Motherboard - P5K3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP w/ DualDDR3 1333, 7.1 Audio, Dual GB Lan, WiFi-AP, 1394, PCI-E x16 CrossFire
Memory - 2GB XMS3-1600 DHX PC3-12800 TWIN3X Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 1GB)

That should be enough. If you overclock it, you can pretty much fly in most games.

hi i too own a e7200 running at 3200mhz and i cannot run 3/4 of my game collection anywhere close to fluid speed. just to name some famous titles, tekken4/tag/5, virtua fighter4, dragon quest 7, suikendo3/4/5, ssx, soul calibur 2. i have only manage to get normal speed on final fantasy 10 and 12 and some 2d fighting games. i find your claims very disingenuous.

... I can play Tekken 4 near fluid, let alone you with a better/ higher clocked CPU. Graphics card holding you back?

+ RAP probably means an OC to ~3.8Ghz, not 3.2Ghz...

Hells yeah 3.8GHz. I don't settle for lower than 3.6GHz, even on a quad-core.

The headroom on these 45nm is just too large to ignore. Going from default clocks to 3.6 - 4.0GHz on these is just like going to 3.0GHz on the 65nm.

what i have read it is a very good card for the price

but this is my opinion

If you want it to work for diablo 3, just aim for Call of duty 4, as Diablo 3 will be closer to WoW specs than CoD 4.

My 8800GTX runs CoD4 at full pelt, everything maxed, AA on full in 1680x1050, so i anything around or above that should handle it fine (even that 8800GT)

I second that. 8800GT can take it no problems.

Actually the 8800GT can take just about anything up to 1680x1050 at Max with a decent amount of AA too (Crysis is excluded, naturally).

ya that sounds good.

I will probably end up changing the card next year if I cannot afford the higher end cards at the moment because i really need a new monitor.

I just want this to be able to run PCSX2 smoothly for now.

Then a E8400 at 4GHz and a 8800GT are all you need for now.

aight thx guys.

Actually i just found out from my friend that his pal can get me pc parts at cost and he recommended these settings for about $1300-1500.

Case – ASPIRE - X-Cruiser Mid Tower w/ Side Window, Blue
Processor – Intel Core™2 Extreme Processor QX9650 3.0GHz Quad-Core w/ 2x6MB Cache
Motherboard – Asus - P5K3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP w/ DualDDR3 1333, 7.1 Audio, Dual GB Lan, WiFi-AP, 1394, PCI-E x16 CrossFire
Memory – Corsair, 2GB XMS3-1600C7 DHX PC3-12800 TWIN3X Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 1GB)
Hard Drive –Samsung 1TB SpinPoint F1 7200rpm SATA II w/ 32MB Cache
Optical Drive - LG Super Multi Security DVD Writer 20x DVD +/-RW Dual-Layer, Black (OEM)DVD +/-RW Dual-Layer, SATA w/ Lightscribe, Black (OEM)
Video Card – EVGA - e-GeForce 9800 GX2 KO Edition 1GB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI
Power Supply – OCZ 700W GameXStream Power Supply w/ Quad +12V

Is that uber better? lol. I will probably use windows xp. Im guessing I would need some extra internal cooling hardware as well so I dont melt my system.

That kinda seems like awaste of money in some areas. DDR3 does not give a lot of speed increase and is too expensive. I don't know if u need 1TB of space, if u do that's ok but, u might save some money by buying the 750GB instead.

Well anyway, by buying that sytem u might forget about upgrading for quite some time.

PS : Are u sure that those parts won't be used or damage

nice setup. but take note: Ref will not code pcsx2 just if you have a sexy machine.
dont buy a machine hust for a work in progress.

On the flip side: Im building a $3,000 PC just to break RAP's score in PCSX2 (FFX fps test) so i really cant talk

DX, nope theyre all new. Ya for sure Phil, but this just seems like a good deal from my friend's pal for the cost of $1300 to $1600 CDN altogether.

just out of curiosity though, you can still put DDR2 in a DDR3 ram slot right? You're not obligated to ONLY put DDR3 class ram in it.

If so, I will just get DDR2 and replace it with DDR3 later on because just for 2x1 GB of DDR3 of high end is over $200 which is a lot.

just buy an e8500, swap it out with your e6700 and ebay the 6700
it'll cost you about $40-50 and give a bigger performance increase for pcsx2 than the tl;dr of your new pc

the e8500 is not worth it if your not overclocking

Some mobos have DDR3 slots on one side and DDR2 on another side, check the mobo's specs and see if it has that capability or if it only supports DDR3 instead of both.

I think that the Asus P5K3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP only supports DDR3 as native memory for the mobo though, I guess u will have to buy DDR3 from now on.
