Low FPS and graphics errors
Been wanting to play Dirge of Cerberus after finishing FF7:CC. So I decided to borrow the CD from a friend and use an emulator. Made an ISO of the cd, downloaded and installed the emulator, downloaded some BIOS's, plugins etc. After getting the emulator to run the game, I find it's choppy and slow as hell. It starts off strong, around 130 FPS, then drops to ~15 FPS around the square enix splash screen. Hammer the select button, get to the menu and try to start the game and I get a load of graphics errors. Intel Quad Q6660 2.4Ghz 4GB of RAM 2x 8800GTS 640mb (SLI) Vista Ultimate 64bit The end results are the same no matter which plug in I use, weather it be GSDX (DX9 or 10) or ZeroGS. I have the multithreading options enabled in the CPU configuration. No change depending on which BIOS I use either. So I am wondering, is there any trick to this? I read some of the threads on the forums, saw people getting ~70+ FPS in games using this emulator, with systems on par with mine, yet I can't seem to break ~20FPS when I finally manage to try and start the game. I attached some screen shots for reference along with a dxdiag output of my system. Any help obtaining fluid game play will be greatly appreciated. Last edited by Wanell; July 4th, 2008 at 14:55.. |

![]() Also I'm not sure but I don't think Dirge of Cerberus is fully supported yet. Its not your computer, its the emulator/plug-ins |

Not every game has the same performance on pcsx2. You PC is good, 2.4 is not the best but there are games that even 4Ghz E8XXX cant play at full speed. Raise your frequency to 3-3.6Ghz and buy a ps2.

Dire of Cerberus is only ingame so don't expect it to run correctly (no matter how powerful your computer is). Try the public beta of PCSX2 and if that doesn't work then wait for a new release to support this game...

So, you borrowed your friends game and ripped it, downloaded your bios which means you don't own a PS2, and you expect us to help you?
