Probably not. I'm running at 90-100% w/ a Intel core 2 Extreme @ 2.8Ghz. To run at full speed your probably looking at 3+ghz.

If your motherboard supports overclocking you can get full speed I have the same processor as you running stable at 3.2 and I get full speed no problem.
you will need better ram id bet though.

His RAM shouldn't be a prob. E4xxx series run @200MHz FSB and his RAM is 333 (667 don't ask), so he should be fine with his current sticks. Unless u have nVidia chipset set CPU-RAM clock setting at 1:1 and raise FSB.

Recorded videos are forced to 60 frames. Also the sound and animation is distorted from time to time in that clip.

Yes, the video merely makes him look like he is. It records it at full frames, regardless if he even played it at 1 FPS.

So with my specs, I have no chance of running FFX at full speed?

If you can OC even further, and use the latest beta + DX, it might achieve it. Just don't be expecting any miracles.

Ehm, actually what you got should suffice. Not fullspeed in any situation but still enough to play.
Try the speedhacks in the beta

Can't OC ruin your system?

That dependent with knowledge of overclocking. You can install directx in microsoft website or you can see it in gsdx thread.

I just finished FFX with my specs, very similar to his:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU - E6750 @ 2.66GHz (no overclocking)
2GB Dual Channel DDR2-800 (PC2-6400) (no oc)
Radeon ATI HD 2600 XT 256MB

I used latest beta (9.5svn377) with the new GSDX drivers (1.8) and was able to run it at 768 x 768, which is still beautiful on a 1680x1050 22" monitor. Full speed entire game.

As far as being able to run full speed, it's a matter of dropping the internal res on GSDX if the system specs aren't good enough. Anything below 512 x 512 starts looking iffy, but go up to where your system can handle and stick with that.

Did you run it via iso or with the CD in your Hard-drive?

How can I rip out the ISO from the Disc without harming the Original DISK?

Is running it from the CD-Drive slower?

Ripping an ISO from your disk will not harm it at all. It's very, very easy to do.

Step 1: Download DVDDecrypter.
Step 2: Install and run. :P
Step 3: On top menu, click Mode -> ISO -> Read
Step 4: Insert disk, specify Destination
Step 5: Click the pretty picture to start

I've heard that reading from a drive can cause problems, but I can't say from experience. ISO ftw.

How will 512x512 look for a 19 inch monitor?

Try it! Experiment with the default (1024x1024), 512x512, and 768x768. See what looks best and still runs without lagging. 512x512 is pretty much the same as the native PS2 resolution, so anything greater than that will be sharper than if you were to play the game on an actual PS2.
