n00b needs help running FFX
Hey guys, I'm rather new at this and had a question regarding the PAL version of FFX. I'm running an AMD Turion64x2 with 1.8Ghz processor and an ATI Radeon X1200 GC. I've come to the conclusion that my computer just may not be fast enough to run the game, but is there something I'm just not getting about the emulator itself? The game starts, but is extremely slow and choppy and will be downright painfully slow in the CG shots. Let me know guys, Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's probably just your system. Both your CPU and GPU are just way way below what can play most PSX games.

To put it simply, a laptop of that caliber won't be sufficient even for FFX. Unless you have a desktop with better specs around, it'll be better to just stick with your PS2. |

You need the same turion x2 but at 2.5GHz aprox. to emulate FFX at descent speed in your laptop, for the GPU you need something a little more powerful like a X1600 or an 8500 to run FFX and many other games without loosing FPS. But PCSX2 emulates better in desktop system 'cause It put at 100% the CPU and stress the GPU too, meaning HEAT, and the laptops aren't good taking heat. So like skoreanime said, better sitick with your PS2 or play it in your desktop system.
