I had a play around with it last night with Final Fantasy X and was qiute successful but was hoping for a few more FPS, I was getting roughly 45fps but think I should get more, any advise/tips would be appriciated.
my spec:
E6600 Quad
Nvidia 9800 GTX 512mb 700/2200 Mhz
4Gb DDR2
Vista Ultimate 64
Thanx.

try reading the guide in my sig.
and get the latest PCSX2 beta and plugins.

although at stock 2.4ghz, you can't run the game at full speed all the time.

vista x64 was a bit slower when i tried it than XP.

make sure you use the DirectX 10 option of GSdx then.

I followed your guide to the letter but both the 0.9.4 and 0.9.5 versions crashed as soon as I tried to start them (iso, disc or running the bios),maybe its a Vista 64 thing? anyway I'll boot over onto XP (got dual boot) and see how it goes...

did you remember to put the additional GSdx dll's in the PCSX2 root directory?

you need to have the GSdx.dll inside the "plugins" folder.

and then have the other DLLs inside the ROOT PCSX2 folder (where PCSX2.exe is)

okay
just delete GSDX-SSE4.dll since your processor doesn't support it.

maybe you were trying to use that plugin and it crashed?
you should be using GSdx-ssse3.dll with your q6600.

what does PCSX2 say when it crashes?

and are you able to run the Bios?
(set PCSX2 CD plugin to "CDVD Null" and run PCSX2 to go into the bios)

hmm..
so the bios doesn't work either?

it was working before right?

so after reading my guide, its not working anymore?

try going into the "ini" folder, and delete the PCSX2.ini file

that will start PCSX2 with the default settings, and you can reconfigure the emulator correctly.
i'm guessing the ini file might've gotten messed up or something.

NPPTools.dll is only required when you use ZeroGS if i remember correctly.

change it to GSdx and it should go away.

if not, then you can download the dll with a quick search on google
just put it in the PCSX2 root directory.

Tried it again this morning and its giving me the same errors on XP aswell now.
update: well i did get it running on XP after using the installer version, once the bios run then FFX run but both times the error report still appeared and when i clicked dont send error report/send error report the program closed,I then tried again but this time it just crashes striaght away,So I uninstalled it/re-installed it (noticed it doesnt ask to log off, something is kept in registry?)and got the same result i.e crash.
update 2.Switched from Vista 64 to Vista 32 and also used gsdx 1.7 and it works fine now...
