Problems with ePSXe.

Ok, I've been using the emulator for years, and the past few days, I've tried to play it, with the settings i normally do, Frame Limiter is checked so it won't go blazing fast, but even with that checked, i'm running at least 200+ fps, according to fraps, but the emulator says 60fps (though earlyer it said 12fps, and it was still going 200+ fps). I can restart my computer, and it runs fine for a minute, then after that minute it starts to go crazy fast. I've never had this happen before, any suggestions, i've tried multiple sound and video plug-in and even changed the bios, but i still the same problem.

Any help?

P.S. this problem effects both 1.6.0 and 1.5.2 o.O

set cpu affinity to 1 in the task manager.

Maybe :
1- A virus/trojan...etc that feeds himself with your memory/registry...etc (use antivirus to heal your PC than re-download/install (copy)/re-config...etc

2- Antivirus you installed/updated recently (check if its AVG -+updated than remove it, cause AVG does sucks with ePSXe with its latest update (detects ePSXe as a trojan )

3- Your system registry is getting sucks (Use a regestr clean tool, or re-install os as a final solution).

....OR else poste your system configs + emu/plgs configs + full report on stuff happening with your PC/Emu, and we will try to figur out WTH is going on!!

Thanks, it works great now. Apparently, the emulator doesn't like dual cores XD.

its a fairly common bug, and it varies from case to case. some people get slowdown, some people get speedups and some people get both. i dont know if this has been or is going to be corrected in the upcoming epsxe 1.7.0 version and i cant really test or confirm this in 1.7.0 myself since im using a single core cpu but i will ask one of the other beta testers who are running on a dual core if this is still present.

Hey I'm new, but as you're talking about this: do you mean set affinity to CPU 1? because now it is both CPU 0 and CPU 1 so do you mean choose one or specifically 1? thanks
