PC games from a decade ago

I'm sure... most of us used to have a P2, or even P3 computer with some high-end graphics card, or some onboard ones. And maybe we had a lot of fun back then (large sigh in the background). Anyway, do you still remember any of those games? From ten years ago? I myself remember Final Fantasy 7, and Metal Fatigue...
Especially Metal Fatigue. Man... first RTS I ever enjoyed. Now I can still enjoy the game on my Eee PC, and it's still as awesome as ever. Back then, I still played a lot of NES and SNES games ('scuse the poor circumstances, please) so I didn't know much about PC games.

So... what did you play ten years ago, guys?

Wacky Wheels (good for some light fun...the closest thing to MarioKart the PC has)

Need for Speed 2 - Special Edition...in fact it's high time I make an ISO of this...the disc is starting to go...

Aswell as obviously AoE and AoE2

SimCity 2000 (still my favourite SimCity and I treasure my copy of it)

Then there was Stunts...which I could never get working right...

Aswell as some DOS games like Crystal Caves and Defender of the Crown and Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego (yes I know these are older than you want...but I did play them around that time..infact some of the others mentioned are also probably too old)...

I also played Hover off the Windows 95 disc...that reminds me...I need to make a poll...

Aswell as Mole's Quest and Flack Attack which also came off some demo CD. And Kid's Typing which we learned typing from at school.

Actually I never had many games back then it's only around 2000 that I really started getting lots of PC games....basically it's only then that my dad actually accepted that I could work a PC on my own...before then he insisted that he install everything for me/with me and I had very very little PC Freedom.
He even a cracked a demo CD with Road Rash on it in half and threw it away cuz he was against me playing it and considered it a very bad game.

O yes and the other 2 games I had both came with the PC... the one was Golf 95 or something like that and the other was...The Magic School Bus - The Solar System...aswell as Maths Blaster 1 and 2.

Back in '98, since that's when we got our first PC:

- Dungeon Keeper (soon followed by 2)
- Theme Hospital
- Delta Force
- Settlers 2 and 3
- Road Rash
- NFS3
- A2 Racer (this one has to be on Samor's list as well )
- Carmageddon Demo

Great days for gaming, especially once I got my TNT2 to enable Bilinear Filtering and other flashy effects. NFS3 was droolable in every single way

One Must Fall 2097. Still do (in Dosbox). Excellent concept, could use remakes and clones.
And now free too ;p

A FlashBack-like whose name I'm blanking on (starts in jungle, hero dropping from a parachute stuck in trees)

DarkStone. An excellent Diablo-like hack-and-slash game, much better than Diablo, and a match to even Diablo 2. As its studio is totally dead now, the community plays it unrestricted (complete abandonware)

DOOM, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and Age of Empires II.

I was (and still am) more of a console gamer.

10 years ago? Hmm... Starcraft, Diablo, probably some C&C games. I have a bad sense of time... Quake 3 too?

Not even close. Next you're going to tell me Sacred is good.

Oh yeah man! Lotus and Outrun, those were my first two racing games back in the days when I would play games at other places. Trying to beat teachers at Outrun was just classic, I think I succeeded as well

I think I won quite a few games in 2p mode in Lotus purely on pitstop strategy

Starcraft on Battle.net

I was carefully selecting my opponents and mostly playing lots and lots crappy players, thus I made it up to #600 spot on the top 1000 ladder ranking. It took playing alot of lower ranked players since the higher your rank relative to the opponents the less points you win for beating them.

Hydralisk Rush or Terran Siegetank/bunker hopping ftw.

Also playing Fallout: A Post Nuclear Roleplaying game, FFVII PC-CDROM, Elderscrolls Daggerfall, Quake, Dungeon Keeper, C & C: Red Alert, Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (soon to be 3), Diablo, Crusader No Remorse & Crusader No Regret, Shadow Warrior (Demo), Pro Pinball TimeShock! and Civilization 2.

I Think by 1998 I had finished playing Full Throttle several times so I had moved on to other things.
