Irregularly occuring black screens (Chrono Cross)

^This ist my problem.
There are no signs or warning, the screen just becomes black und usually it stays like that and I have to close the emulator.
Sometimes I can play an hour without such a black screen, sometimes only a few minutes.
Is this problem widely spread or am I the only one?

Do you have an idead how to fix this?

My current setup:

ePSXe 1.6.0

Sound PI: Eternal SPU Plugin 1.50
Video PI: P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17

EDIT: Do you think switching to an earlier version of ePSXe might fix the problem?

use epsxe 1.5.2. next time be sure to check the stickies in this section first because there is one that is specifically for this issue.

Done but unfortunately that was no improvement. I just saw another black screen.

what are you playing from the disk or an image? have you tried other video plugins like the D3D or OGL?
