Pokemon pearl freezes when I finish the first battle

As soon as I finish my first battle in Pokemon Pearl (the one where the starly attacks you in the beginning) my emulator freezes. Help plz

Make sure You have sound turned on in emu settings.

While playing pearl, the 2nd player freezes after his first battle with a wild pokemon (starly). The sound is ON. The first player doesn't freeze. What should i do???
