What is the slot folder for?

In my no$GbA folder what is that slot folder for? Should that be the location of my .nds files?

But really, this got me courious. Why did he add that folder? What is or supposed to be in it? What is its purpose?

slot is generally 4 those who hate .nds files everywhere... just stuff em in this folder!I dont!
Leave it as a vestigial part of your computer!
