Problem with FF9

Hey I have version 1.5.2 of the ePSXe emulator and I am using Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.75 for graphics, and P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9 for sound. I am trying to load FF9 from a .mds file which i mounted using daemon tools, but every time i try to load it i just get a black screen. I am out of ideas, some help would be great.

does the game work when you use the cd? if you are using daemon tools you need to make it so epsxe reads from whatever specific virtual drive you have mounted the image on. if possible can you post your video settings? and btw for ff9 i would use eternal spu 1.41.

It is definitely reading the right drive, ff8 and vagrant story both are working, I dont actually have the CD, I am just mounting the .mds file with daemon. My vid specs are some integrated video, mobile intel 945 express chipset. Not very good, but ps1 roms have always worked before. The only difference is I have never used .mds/mdf files before.

Since you said you don't have the CD, this would mean that you pirated the game. If you read the forum rules, we don't support piracy.

alright the reason your game doesnt work is likely because whoever ripped it didnt know what they were doing. this is common with downloaded games and as said before, we dont support piracy. buy the game because you will have little to no luck finding a working copy you can download. and FYI, they are not ps1 "roms".
