Can the PS2 emulator go onto the Xbox 360?
Just curious.

No, that'd be pointless, and it'd be slow as heck.

it wouldnt be pointless! you cant play PS2 games on an Xbox 360, it would be great to be able to! and for those of us with this strong console, it would be much better option than a somewhat strong computer. cause we all know that an xbox 360's computational power is greater than any desktop right now (excluding servers). |

No, LOL, it is not stronger. It'd be slower than a X2 3800, due to it would have to emulate twice as much. Xbox 360 already has to emulate a Operating System for the emulator, then you have to emulate the PS2 itself, so that'd be quite the load. 3.2GHZ Tri-core? There are 3.6-4.0GHZ Quad-cores out there that some people have. 500MHZ Ati card? My 8800 GT has 700 MHZ, lol, 360 is quite dated. |

you dont know what your talking about... i have an x2 3800.. and an xbox 360.. if i gave my computer an 8800ultra the xbox 360 would still have superior computational power! remember, this pcsx2 stuff relies on CPU power. xbox 360? dude look up its hardware. its pretty ****in nice. its cpu > then a lot of stuff. the PS3's is even way better. 7 uniform processers.. each can be programmed to do select things.. the xbox 360's has three cores.. well whatever. i dont want to contine to argue with you. |

When someone bothers, it may happen. Won't say that it's impossible since I haven't even looked at the spec sheets yet. One thing to note though: The processor of the XBox360 does not necessarily surpass all current desktop processors (Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors may be faster ) ... and its GPU most definitely won't surpass anything the PC has.

Tri-cores? We'll have 8-cored CPU's out soon, and QuaD cores are already becoming common man. Like I said, some people OC the Q9450 to 4.0GHZ with Water Cooling, and that's not exactly a super-expensive rig either. I said it'd be slower on PCSX2 on a X360 than X2 3800 because of the extra emulation. |

not for budget people. remember the budget people! i cant afford a $1000 pc. im always behind at least two generations. and those quad cores? its all luck of the draw with overclocking, its hard to compare it to them as a reliable base line. otherwise my x2 3800 would be at like 3.4 ghz or something. |

Intel CPUs are generally pretty easy to overclock. You only need special conditions if you want to push them waaay beyond. It's still getting easier, though. Sure you can't afford a $1000 computer, but I am sure I can assemble a pretty good one for you for just $600. If it can't play at least FFX at full speed, you can have my head. ![]() Edit: But it may still be possible to emulate PS2 on the 360 at full speed, though. Miracles can happen. |

Hey, calm down. No one is bashing you (I think?), or at least I'm not. Just telling you that it's not that expensive to build a new computer that can handle PCSX2 decently.

Disclaimer:I don't own a 360, probably never will Can you even run homebrew code on the bare metal? I'm fairly certain that will be required before any serious porting attempt is undertaken. |

Console CPU power is never greater than desktop... the processors are just QUITE specific. A consoles CPU isn't meant to do ALOT generally, thus the PS2 can run (i think it is) a 300mhz CPU. It is built specifically for this process of rendering PS2 code. Meaning it runs much more VISUALLY than any 300mhz desktop CPU. Desktop CPUs are very general, and have loads of functions built into them that allow this wonderful multimedia world we live in to be. Any console CPU is VERY VERY good at what it does (pushing pixels), but is no where near as good as a desktop CPU for running... well everything else. |

Yeah, but it seems the Xbox fanboys still don't have a clue.

lol, you two always end up going into a hardware discussion .But @ the OP...is there a point on running a PS2 emulator on the 360? (Other then the fact it's probably impossible)... Why not just use the PS2 ?
