Photoshop printing

I just bought a 3.3 megapixels digital camera, but when i print the pictures (epson stylus photo 750) they get all pixelized, although they look great in the monitor!
I think its strange that my scanned negatives have a resolution of 1200 dpi and the Digital Camera of 72 dpi! If i change the dpi over 200 (in the image size) will the pics have photographic quality?
