Wi-Fi Problems

Hello,

so I didnt know where to post it and this forum looked like it could maybe help me.

I have been looking arround on google and different forums, youtube etc. for the last two days (arround 10 hours) to find a way to get the Desmume Wifi version working on my pc. Unfortunately no solution i found worked, so i decided its time to ask for help.

So I installed Winpcap and made sure that it was working. Also i tried out about 5 different versions of desmume. I installed everything correctly including setting wifi-mode on infrastructure and setting the path for external bios imasges and firmware, always starting in admin-mode. I also tried using some kind of firmware.dfc i found. I disabled my Firewall on my Pc as well as in my router and im on a wired connection. But still I am getting the Error Code 20104 message everytime i try to connect.

I hope that you can help me

AFAIK, Wifi is internally disabled within DeSmuME.

Possibly never.

Last I heard, the devs disabled it to avoid legal action from Nintendo because accessing things like the Store may be considered as "hacking" by Nintendo... At least something to that effect.

Handheld emulator news isn't my forte so someone else may be able to clarify this better.

WiFi never worked in the official versions. The only way to get at what WiFi implementation there was (which still doesn't work perfectly anyways) is to compile you own build from the SVN repository with WiFi enabled. Just know that messing with it could prevent any future WiFi improvements if it's detected by Nintendo and ends up completely locked out so you may just ruin it for yourself and others.
Go check the stickied thread on this topic at the top of this forum section.

Basically the message is still the same as before, no DS emulator can do WiFi.

WiFi does work with the DeSmuMe Emulator Version 9.7. Here is proof from my stream on Twitch TV just recorded on October 23rd. I am playing Pokemon White 2. It took me about a half hour to get it setup, but it was well worth it. As far as I know this is the only version that works with WiFi. DeSmuMe makers didn't want to support WiFi anymore due to legality issues with Nintendo, but it does still work on 9.7. Be aware that a wired connection is required.

There is no need to feel bad. Even the antispam bot reported it as suspicious!

It's fine. I guess a lot of people claim they have the WiFi, and they're lying? I could understand why someone would report it as suspicious though because I'm sure it's a hard thing for most people to accomplish.
