Where is the location of IP Helper on my computer?

Hello all,

I made an account on this site because I wanted to ask the computer specialists on where I could find IP Helper on my computer.

I went to my start menu -> services.msc, and I was told that there should be a service called IP Helper in list of that window. It was in alphabetical order, and all I found that started with the letter "I" was IKE and AuthIP Keying Modules, Interactive Services Detection, Internet Connection Sharing, and IPsec Policy Agent. The only thing that came close to IP Helper was TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper. But I believe they are not the same thing.

I thought I was not the only one with this problem, so I did a little searching on the internet. It turns out that the majority of people who wanted to do something with IP Helper got referred to the steps above. So, I may be the only one with no IP Helper on my computer.

If I go to C:\Windows\System32,I have a file in there called "Iphlpapi.dll" and "iphlpsvc.dll" Does that mean anything?

If it helps, my computer is the Dell Studio XPS 7100 series. Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Perhaps you should start by telling us exactly what you want to do first? Just in case you're looking completely in the wrong spot

What I wanted to do with the information

I wanted to disable IP Helper in hopes of being able to play an MMORTS called League of Legends without disconnecting frequently.

There was a solution online that said if IP Helper was disabled, and Pando Media Booster was uninstalled, then the problem would be fixed. I already uninstalled Pando Media Booster, but I cannot find IP Helper.

What I have tried to fix this issue

Through the suggestions of experts, I have tried...

Typing SC QC IPHLPSVC
SC QUERYEX IPHLPSVC into my command prompt window, only to have it say that the service does not exist.

Typing sfc/ scannow only to have it say that there are no irregularities in my operating system. I have run this twice.

Any other suggestions?

Same here. It's listed on my fairly fresh Windows install (7 Pro SP1 x64).

Finally Fixed

Someone provided me with a file that could be merged into my system that would give me IP Helper. This issue is now resolved.

You gotta ask yourself though if this service was missing from your windows install for some arb reason then who knows what else is, perhaps it's time for a format and fresh re-install?
Services aren't just not there without some sort of reason.
