Introducing the Paragon System!

Quote:
The new Paragon system coming in patch 1.0.4 is designed to address Magic Find gear-swapping while providing players who’ve reached level 60 with an extended progression system.
Here’s how it works:
  • After you hit level 60, any further experience you earn from killing monsters will begin to count toward Paragon levels
  • There are 100 Paragon levels
  • Every Paragon level will reward you with:
    • Core stats such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality in amounts similar to what you’d gain from a normal level
    • 3% Magic Find and 3% Gold Find
  • In addition, a distinctive increasingly-impressive border will surround your character portrait in the in-game party frame to denote your Paragon progression, with a new frame earned after every ten levels. Your Paragon level will also be visible to other players wherever your normal level is shown.

PVP is patch 1.1.0 got a bit to go till then they are probably going to have to rebalance the game a bit with the new 1.0.4 patching changing so much.

I wouldn't expect the pvp patch to come out in 2012 to be honest...

If they had left the skill points be, it might be more meaningful but as it is...just no.

I have to say, this is now the second Blizzard game I feel I got robbed on... First being WoW, just the thought of how much I wasted on that!

Hmm a couple of email prompts from Blizzard requesting that I verify the the BattleNet account/s for Diablo 3 I don't have if I don't want my non-existant account/s suspended.

That seems legit.

Any email you get about account verification (not to activate a website account you just made ofc) is fake. No reputable company will every do that.

Also, about that Paragon system.
Does WoW have anything like that?

Rift does, where you can spend points for extra attributes, more attack power if you wield a certain weapon, teleports, etc. Mostly fluff, and doesn't really make a huge difference, but it does give a feeling of progression and accomplishment.

It didn't when I played it, back then the only thing to do outside of raiding (once you were done with dungeons) was reputation grinding, it got boring after a short while.

I know that but I was just surprised by and I didn't know there was so much money in the accounts (thanks to the RMAH I guess) that a good use of their scamming time would be emailing random people in the hope they find someone with a Battle.Net account who doesn't already have 56 steps to authenticate it and would fall for this.

Holy crap I totally forgot about Diablo 3.

And nothing of importance was forgotten. Game is so bland in retrospect, had some fun with it, particularly with the odd game with Exodus, but it doesn't really have anything going for it anymore outside of whoring the RMAH. **** that noise.

I've been playing TL2 quite a bit lately; great game IMO. It has a lot of balance issues atm, embermage and engineers are OP. Prismatic bolt makes it very easy on embermage and beats all the other skills. Engineers gets a big advantage with forcefield, eats up a huge amount of damage and gets 50% more damage absorption per change you have. The game needs more balance IMO for a real try at hardcore mode, as it is right now you can have guys land random crits in ng+ modes for way over what any health amount, damage reduction %, armor can mitigate... And you can't dodge or block everything.

This guy probably has the best explanation I've seen : http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=43619

At least you can mod that (is it possible yet?), or wait until someone makes a balance mod.

Yeah, lots of work being done on modding atm. Already a few out for adding some polish and working around hassles.
