Trying to play Gauntlet Dark Legacy Online

Me and my friend jarrett want to play gauntlet dark legacy online but something weird keeps happening

everytime we can connect to eachother (He opened his ports up) and the game starts it says i need to format my memory card because its been corrupted then this pops up "could not write memory card file (My memory card path) are you running dolphin from a cd/dvd, or is the save file maybe right protected" anyways every time it says that (It keeps popping up even though i dont want it too) i think we desync

after that we press start and it shows me in the game but it doesnt show him in the game (Like he sees himself in the game playing but cant see me and i cant see him in the game but i can see myself)

so we are like split up... also i dont think this is because were using different controllers because i tested it while having the same controlls as him using the keyboard and then i tested it while using a 360 controller

Okay now we see eachother but we keep getting desyned by 3 to 6 seconds any help?
