Sadly, no, not full speed. Very unlikely. Very basic Radeon 4200 then 2.4Ghz AMD.

you need 3GHz+ dual/quad/hexa core CPU with 4670 or better GPU
Basically no to all laptops, unless it costs like $8,000

You should be able to run Kingdom Hearts game great. My laptop is weaker then yours and I can run those games 45+ fps. With your laptop you should be able to play it at a very playable speed. Dont know why all the other people who replied said you cant run it good

But playable is very subjective and a lot of the newbies complain that your "playable" is "slow motion" for them.... It's just wiser to say it won't run full speed....

that games along with final fantasy X are the ones that works best with weaker cpus, (i listened cases were a guy had fullspeed with a pentium 4 of 3,8 ghz) me myself, with a pentium dual core of 1.6 had more than real 40 fps in tekken 4, virtua fighter 4 and dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi 3
so dont worry about that

don't know what graphics card you have, it's memory bandwidth, it's temperature, fan speed, what pixel shader it has
try TechPowerUp's GPU-Z_v0.6.9 (Mar 19,

alternatively if you don't know what your processor is try cpu-z

@ gothboy181:
Hey, pal. Don't take to much of what's said here too seriously. I've spent a lot of time on this subject and can give you some real advice.

First, the mobile HD 4200 is an acceptable choice for PCSX2. It will keep some games from staying at full speed, but can allow 60fps with less demanding games. Just don't expect resolutions higher than native. A good thing I can tell you about the HD 4200 is that it is better than Intel's GMA graphics (4500M, HD). A bad thing I can tell you is it has no GPU diode, so the graphics temp is a "best guess" scenario. Mine doesn't seem too bad (I know the heat I feel isn't the CPU), but that's my "best guess".

As far as the AMD Turion II Ultra Dual Core @ 2.4Ghz, you not in too bad of a place. Remember, mobile CPU clock rates are generally lower than desktops. In example, the highest clocked desktop Core 2 Duo is @ 3.33Ghz, while the highest clocked mobile Core 2 Duo is @ 3.06Ghz. When looking at it in terms of what's actually available in mobile processing, 2.4Ghz is rather decent. It will be too slow for some games, but perfectly fine for others. Although AMD is usually less potent than Intel, at least you're looking at some relatively decent technology with a Turion II. Besides, at that price range, the highest clocked Core 2 Duo you'll find is most likely gonna be 2.2Ghz (T6600). In my experience, any laptop with a T6600 at a decent price would inevitably carry an Intel GMA "crapics card".

Compatibility with games and the emulator can vary greatly. I'm sure you'll find FFX, KH and the likes to be playable on native resolution. Also, I understand KH2 can be a little more demanding on the GPU, so the 4200 may not quite do as well on that one (here you see an example of the variance ). I'd like to direct you to this post. These are some good examples of the least demanding games to emulate. Also note that the list is primaily directed toward low-end CPUs, which that AMD Turion II M600 doesn't qualify as (must score under 1350, it scores 1494).

@ dr emu (madmax):
You're kidding, right? I mean, seriously? Then there is something wrong with your system. Wether it be wrong settings (very wrong), hardware failure, the need for driver update(s), a DirectX update, an uncompatible game or something. A Core i7 920 and a HD 5870 should do great with PCSX2. I would definitely help if you upgraded to Windows 7 and really utilize that GPU!

Alright, so I'm running a processor with 2.66 GHz that's an Intel that can overclock at just under 3 GHz. It's a core i5 m480. I know that laptops fall flat compared to desktops, but I thought this machine could handle it. Should I overclock?
I'm running a windows 7 64 bit OS with Intel HD graphics, I fear the graphics, and not the (OS/Ram(8 gigs)/CPU) is the issue. Can I just download some drivers for the integrated graphics and overclock and just enjoy the ride? Email me at revsethsmith@bellsouth.net

but if you are running a 3.2 GHz processor, he's running a 2.4 GHz so isn't your processor faster?

The real problem is the intel HD graphics; using speedhacks seems to work when I allow a frame rate skip or two. I have the intel i5 overclocked at 2.93 and the best drivers for the intel hd graphics in. I've been able to play some different games by tweaking this and enabling speedhacks.
