Need help PPF patching PSX

so i know this topic may have been beat to death, but searching yields no results for me.

when using psx4droid v2 or fpse psx emulator for android, i get the "please insert playstation cd-rom" message for some games, especially capcom ones.

according to my research, i have to apply a ppf patch to the images. i'm using this program to make the ppf patches: http://slider2k.nm.ru/PPF3/ .

my question is, what command do i type exactly to make a brand new patch? i've tried the following commands with these outputs:

c:\ makeppf3.exe c contra.bin contra.ppf

the error message i get is: "Error: need more input for command 'c'. Done."

any help would be greatly appreciated
