having trouble, been searching but no help plz help

So i am trying to use a downloaded game save in ePSXe on FF7. I changed the path of the memory card and the file is a .mcr. When i run the Bios and go into the Memory card it shows the save file and clouds little head but when i load the ISO game disk and try to load the game the file is not there. I can open the memory card but it shows all the slots empty. I'm new to this stuff and I've been searching for a couple days but haven't found anything that helps my specific situation, or at least what they said to do didn't help me. Please help.

Make sure the save file is the same region as the game you have.

Ok, how do i figure out what region my game is? I also just looked at the game file and noticed it is PAL will that make a difference?

Tried a Europe game save and it worked. Thank you for tolerating my noob question.
