Yes, that is right we can play Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, and Emerald with our buddies through wifi. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl no more. Black and white can scoot over for these older pokemon games. Battles are much easier to do and you don't even have to train your pokemon.

First, download the TGB duel emulator:

The folder is in Spanish, but the rest should be in English.

Now, download a sav editor that will adjust those pokemon to any that you want. Please use legit stats and movesets. Go to smogon and look up the G/S info on the pokemon you want. Close the emulator before using the sav editor.

At xat, we will put the finishing touches by telling you how to port forward. If you want to give it a try by yourself, all you need to know is the brand of your router (netgear, linksys, etc.). Just google "how to portforward ... router"

Is not linking to ROM sites forbidden? I am not sure about it though, sounds interesting. Though maybe you should ask the moderators first. In the PCSX2 forums it can be a touchy subject.
