Vibration/rumble wont work

Hi all.

I ah ve a problem with my old psx dual shock controller. I played brave fencer musashiden on epsxe and the vibration/rumble worked.

After completing it I wanted to continue on my nostalgia journey and started up FF8 from an iso (for some reason my cd-rom wont read my original cd).

Now the rumble/vibration wont work at all. I have set it so it should vibrate in the game still nothing, I have tried same default rumble settings in epsxe as I had in BFM, still nothing. Have tried the various small motor/big motor with sine/constant etc. still it wont work.

Might it be the rom that is messed up or is it just that ff8 might not work with vibration (I cant really use the start button to get up the option to turn on/off vibration ingame but I enter menu and it says vibration is on)

Try to press F5 and the "Analog on" icon should appear. Try to toggle the vibration option now.

Do you have the pad set to "Dual Analog" or "Dual Shock" check in pad config and set it to "Dual Shock"

Hi,

it is set to Dual Shock, I have tried following;

Type; Burutter, dxjoy1

big motor; all three variations
smal motor; all three variations

Pressing f5 ingame and set analog to on, ingame configured it so it is set to vibrate

Uninstalled the gamepad drivers, tried to check for caliber etc. but I do not get the vibration caliber (might not exist on my controller as it is ages old, but worked fine with brave fencer musashiden)

Try some other games to see if Vibration works, best is Metal Gear Solid since it has test Vibration in options.

Are you sure you have vibration working for the controller to begin with? Maybe there's a driver missing or something.
