Odd...the game suddenly looks more detailed to me than in your previous shots. And those first few are definitely more colourful.

I tried the ambient occlusion setting in the latest nvidia drivers. Unfortunately, I found that quality setting was too big of a hit, although it did add some distinct depth to scenes. Its a strange sort of thing where if you aren't looking for it you might not even notice it, but if you are, it can be pretty striking IMO. The performance setting worked, but I still took a bit of a hit, and it definitely wasn't as subtle or nice. However, I am getting nearly double the FPS thanks to TESVAL, so I may give it another shot later. Also, allow me to preface my next statement with the fact that I am not trying to be a troll, and I realize one of the greatest things about elder scrolls games is the customization through mods. That being said, I think 95%+ of the mods out there, including many shown in screen shots in this thread, are either redundant or ridiculous, IMHO. This may well be the first TES game where I have no real desire to mod the game, save for some basic texture packs that specifically target the weirdly unbalanced resolution of textures in the game. Its really good, the lore is solid, and the world feels more real to me than any game previous. I can't understand the motivation to muck it up with covergirl cheesecake nonsense or jpop culture anime/vidgame references. Just my 2 cents. |

^Each plays the game as he wants, the first time i finished it was vanilla, but after doing it once for example some of us might want to add some eye candy to it, or mod it to get a more preferred experienced, i see nothing wrong with that and its not mocking the game, that's why modding exists out there to get the experience you want, its a question about tastes a different needs, just cause they are out there and are used in does not mean someone is forcing you to use them or ruining your game, so i see no real reason to complain about it. Just sayin'.

I don't suppose I really had a reason to complain about it, other than expressing my confusion and no motivation to "bite my tongue" as it were. Certainly I did not expect nor really want to change anyone's mind on the subject. I guess contrary to my previous statement, that would be trolling, even if I didn't mean harm and my comments were genuine. I guess part of it is that I do so very much like this game, and I cringe at the thought that someone might be missing out on how good the base game is for a few "in" references to certain pop culture elements. You do however make a good point, it actually had not occurred to me that people might play vanilla and then mod like crazy. A foolish oversight on my part considering that is precisely how I played through Oblivion twice, even if I regularly opted for mods that more closely followed elder scrolls canon. Still don't like the fullscreen shaders though, but then I appear to be of a minority that dislikes FXAA as well.

^Sorry if it sounded like i was coming down to hard but when you hear this over and over in TES/FO community it kind of gets to you though your way of putting it was much more tame and civil then some of those there ... I do agree with you on what you said though that the base of the game is very good, but look at it from a different perspective as well (not a worthy example game wise but still), when i first started FO3 everything was so ugly so bleah that i couldn't get into it, later, much later, i tried it with some mods (beautification, armors and some weapons), after playing for a while, i started to discover that the base of this game is actually pretty damn good, and i was missing out for not playing it, even if the design direction wasn't on my tastes... Same could happen to Skyrim, the overall design might just not be on some peoples tastes but mods even if some beautification mods are used the base of the game will still stay the same and it might help them discover how good this game really is. That said i really love it vanilla since i could pretty much do a character as i wanted it. I'll be definitely be playing it again. And i think i'm going to remake my dark knight, the one i had needed to be abandoned due to the corruption of my saved games cause i had vsync dissabled... but i want to wait for CS when hopefully i will see some community fixes like:Spoiler:

Gotten my hands on some better ENB profiles. I like colour in RPGs, not monotonous drab. Spoiler:

I'm using ENB-FXAA hybrid Winter edition as the base, then tweaked the settings a bit. Trying to get night time saturation down, since Skyrim's default shader is arrested when you use this. Patch 1.4 seems to have used a custom Ambient Occlusion performance hack that's killed ENB's own AO, thus no choice but to revert to nvidia's AO instead. Some more shots then... Spoiler:

How's the performance hit from using the ENB profile?

Plain ENB+FXAAinjector w/o AO would cut 3-15 fps. NV's AO would cut about 10 fps. ENB's AO would've make the game run at 20-30 fps.

Ouch, not sure my GTX260 will manage that since based on my past Bethesda experience I will probably already be struggling to get above 30FPS without add mods that give me such a performance hit.

Tweaking the ENB settings, and with the help of some lighting mods, got the dungeons to be less bright and more gloomy. Comparison shots Vanilla vs ENB: Spoiler:
More shots: Spoiler:

Since your character is a neko wouldn't it would be best for her to transform into a weresabercat or something i know there is a mod on nexus that does this, just suggesting.

Well finally i finished up configuring Skyrim the way i like it XD, it was a fierce battle but i've won... For the lolz i love the hair choices one of my mods gives Hadvar and Ralof (at the time i couldn't fully activate the graphics mode): Spoiler:
One thing i like about Skyrim although it provides a lot of content lore and stories it kind of makes you to think of some for yourself, it even made me to think of a story to better integrate my character in it so here's the story: Spoiler:
tl;dr version: She's basically the demonic/Higher class of a succubus type of character... Lore friendly images: Spoiler:
Strike Friendly Images: Spoiler:
Some wise words from uncle Sheogorath: Spoiler:
Gotta love moding XD.
